Skills Finland Board 2025
At its first meeting of the year, the Skills Finland Board elected a Vice Chair and the Working Committee. Additionally, a committee was appointed to prepare rule amendments and an awards committee was established.
The Skills Finland Board includes representatives from educational administration, vocational institutions, teacher and student organizations, as well as employer and employee organizations. The board, which consists of a maximum of 20 members, is elected by the association’s General Assembly. In September, the General Assembly elected the following individuals to replace the outgoing board members:

Board Decisions
The board held its first meeting on January 23, 2025, and made the following personnel decisions regarding the Vice Chair, the Working Committee, the Rules Committee, and the Awards Committee:
- Maiju Korhonen was elected as Vice Chair of the Board.
- Members elected to the Working Committee, which prepares the board’s work, were Tuula Antola and Taija Paasilinna. The Working Committee also includes Chair Marja Vartiainen and Vice Chair Maiju Korhonen.
- A Rules Committee was established to prepare proposed amendments to the rules for the General Assembly. Members appointed were Riikka-Maria Yli-Suomu, Maiju Korhonen, Satu Ågren, and Mika Tammilehto.
- The Awards Committee from the previous year was reappointed, consisting of Patrik Tanner, Tuula Antola, and Tuomas Syyrakki. The committee is responsible for selecting the Skills Person of the Year (alternating between international and domestic activities) and the Taitaja Encouragement Award recipient.
