TEAM FINLAND's PREVIOUS SUCCESS

Finland has participated in all International Skills Competitions since 1989. In the beginning the International Skills Competitions were called Skills-Olympics. The name WorldSkills Competition was used for the first time at the Competitions in Montreal in 1999. The first EuroSkills competition was organized in 2008 and Finland has been a part of EuroSkills since the beginning. Finland has been a part of The International Abilympics Competition for competitors that need assistance since 2007.

In all competitions a gold-, silver- and bronze medal is awarded. In addition to the medals, at the WorldSkills and EuroSkills competitions Medallion for Excellence awards are given to those competitors who managed to achieve a score above the mean.

Altogether Finland has achieved almost 130 medals in WorldSkills and EuroSkills competitions. So far Finland hasn’t gotten any medals at the Abilympics.
